PORTLAND — Winter storms and the flu don’t just mean a lot of people are missing work and school — it also means they can’t keep their American Red Cross blood and platelet donation appointments. The Red Cross is urging healthy donors of all blood types to roll up a sleeve to help maintain the blood supply for patients in need.
Upcoming blood donation opportunities include:
Lewiston: Central Maine Medical Center Blood Donation Center, 60 High St. Visit tinyurl.com/yd7522ll to schedule with the center or call 1-800-RED CROSS.
Topsham: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Post 202, American Legion, at 79 Foreside Road.
Oxford: 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Hosanna Church, 109 Schoolhouse Road.
Farmington: noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, 1 Hospital Drive.
Rumford: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at the Rumford Town Hall, 150 River St.
Auburn: 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Hilton Garden Inn Auburn, 14 Great Falls Plaza.
Farmington: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Mt. Blue High School, 129 Seamon Road.
