FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – The New England Patriots signed rookie punter Danny Baugher to their practice squad Tuesday after his outstanding career at Arizona.
Baugher was released July 30 by Cincinnati, which had signed him May 5 as an undrafted free agent. In four college seasons, he set school records of 225 punts for 9,476 yards and a 42.1-yard average.
New England’s regular punter, Josh Miller, attended the same school and averaged 40.3 yards per punt before turning pro in 1993 in the Canadian Football League.
