PORTLAND (AP) – Justin Christian, pinch-running for Randy Ruiz, who had doubled, stole third and came home on a passed ball with two outs in the ninth inning to give the Trenton Thunder a 7-6 win over the Portland Sea Dogs Friday night. Portland (47-29) scored five times in the fourth inning to take the lead.

Chad Spann and Luis Jimenez singled, then Dusty Brown’s sacrifice fly knocked in Spann. Zach Borowiak doubled, David Bacani brought home two with a single, followed by Tyler Minges’ RBI triple and a run-scoring hit from Brandon Moss.

The Sea Dogs added a run in the fifth on Jimenez’ home run, then Trenton (43-37) made it 6-3 in the sixth inning, with Eric Duncan’s three-run blast.

The Thunder cobbled together two in the seventh, on a single, four walks and a wild pitch, and tied the game an inning later on J.T. Stotts’ RBI hit.

Justin Pope notched his 17th save.
