ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Mighty Ducks placed goalie J.S. Giguere and right wing Petr Sykora on injured reserve Wednesday.

Giguere left Sunday night’s 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks in the first period after aggravating a hamstring injury that had sidelined him the previous two games. He didn’t play Tuesday night, when the Ducks beat Phoenix 2-1 to snap an eight-game losing streak.

The Ducks also recalled center Zenon Konopka from the Portland Pirates.

Konopka appeared in his first five career NHL games following his recall on Oct. 29. He scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 6 vs. Minnesota before being reassigned to Portland two days later.
