Charles H. Collingwood Sr.
1929 – 2009

AUBURN — Charles H. Collingwood Sr. of Turner, died July 24, in Auburn.

He was born in Duxbury, Mass., Jan. 8, 1929, to Harry and Gertrude MacKenzie Collingwood. They moved to Maine and bought a farm in Buckfield.

He worked in the woods, farming, drove trucks, was a road commissioner, a mechanic and was founder of Charlie’s Industrial Truck, until he retired. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his companion, Shirley Palmer of Turner; one son, Charlie Jr. and companion, Debbie of Lisbon Falls; two daughters, Lori and her husband, Tony Warren of Trenton, Tenn., and Rita of Auburn; three granddaughters, Bethany of Auburn, Crystal of California, and Marcia of Connecticut; two grandsons, Brian of Tennessee and Joe of Buckfield; two great-grandchildren, Julie and Erique of Connecticut; a cousin, Lois Spears of Nova Scotia, Canada; and three nephews, David, Brad and Bobby Collingwood of Pennsylvania.
