PORTLAND – Brad Boyes and Patrice Bergeron scored two goals apiece and Hannu Toivonen made 26 saves as the Providence Bruins trounced the Portland Pirates 7-1 Saturday.

The Bruins (7-6-1-2) took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission after Leon Hayward scored 2:57 into the game, Andy Hilbert tallied at 8:25 and Boyes connected at 14:58.

In the second period, Bergeron tallied at 4:39 and Boyes made it 5-0 at 7:20 before the Pirates (8-5-1-2) got on the scoreboard when Jonas Johansson drilled a slapshot past Toivonen at 11:35.

Chris Dyment scored for the Bruins 2:22 into the third period, and Bergeron netted his second of the evening at 15:51.

Worcester 3, Lowell 2

WORCESTER, Mass. – Jeff Hoggan scored two goals to lead the Worcester IceCats to a 3-2 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters.

Springfield 3, Hartford 2

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Shane Willis and Nikita Alexeev scored in shootout while Springfield goaltender Jamie Storr made 31 saves overall as the Falcons took a 3-2 victory over Hartford.
