PORTLAND (AP) – John Castellano doubled home the winning run in the top of the ninth inning as the Reading Phillies rallied past the Portland Sea Dogs 8-7 Friday in the Eastern League.

Kurt Keene led Reading’s offense with a two-run homer and Miguel Quintana and Jim Deschaine also had two RBIs apiece.

The big blow for Portland was Brett Roneberg’s three-run homer as the Sea Dogs built a 5-0 lead after four innings.

Quintana’s two-run triple sparked three Reading runs in the fifth, but the Sea Dogs (13-20) answered with two in the bottom of the inning.

The Phillies (12-21) scored twice in the sixth, on Keene’s homer, and cut the deficit to 7-6 with one run in the seventh.

In Reading’s half of the ninth inning, a leadoff walk and an error set up the tying run, which scored on Deschaine’s sacrifice fly. Then Castellano plated the game-winner with a double into the right-field corner.
