Kenya’s Chebii wins Mini-Marathon

INDIANAPOLIS – Kenya’s Reuben Chebii won Saturday’s 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, finishing the 13.1-mile race in 1 hour, 4 minutes, 56 seconds.

The 21-year-old Chebii was about three minutes off the race record of 1:01:54, set by Gabriel Muchiri.

Kenya’s Ronald Mogaka was second, and American Dennis Henry finished third.

In the women’s race, Russia’s Albina Ivanova won for the second straight year, finishing in 1:12:36, more than a minute off her record time of 1:11:24, set last year.
