Notes: Hinske ended a career worst 0-for-19 slump with a single in the fourth. … Schilling and Batista are former teammates. … Manager Terry Francona gave shortstop Pokey Reese a day off. Former Portland Sea Dog Cesar Crespo started instead. … At 4-11, the Blue Jays are off to their worst start ever….Injured reliever Byung-Hyun Kim (right shoulder strain) threw a successful side session before Pawtucket’s afternoon game on Wednesday. Kim remains on schedule to pitch for the PawSox on Saturday…..The Yankees are still undecided about who will start Sunday’s game against Pedro Martinez and the Red Sox, though it appears as if they are leaning toward using Javier Vazquez on three days’ rest. The other two options are left-handers Alex Graman and Donovan Osborne. “We’re going to wait,” Yankees manager Joe Torre said. “Vazquez is one of our options, plus the two left-handers. We’ll wait to see how he feels two days after he pitches. We’re still discussing it.”
