MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Boyd Gordon score with two minutes left in the game to give the Portland Pirates a 4-3 victory over the Manchester Monarchs in an American Hockey League game Sunday.
Gordon redirected a puck sent on net by Colin Forbes for the game winner. It was the Pirates’ (29-27-13-7) fourth straight win.
The Monarchs (38-26-7-5) tied the game in the third period on two quick scores by Yanick Lehoux and Scott Barney.
Lehoux skated out of the corner and into the left face-off circle firing a snap shot by Ratislav Stana to cut the lead to 3-2.
With the win, the Pirates have a two-points advantage for the final playoff spot.
