FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) – The New England Patriots have signed wide receiver J.J. Stokes, the team announced Wednesday.
Stokes, 31, appeared in two games with the Patriots after signing with the team on Nov. 18.
He was released on Dec. 9, but was re-signed by the team during the playoffs.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Stokes opened the 2003 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He started three of six games and caught 13 passes for 116 yards before being released on Nov. 12.
He was originally drafted by the San Francisco in 1995 and played eight seasons with the 49ers, starting 66 of 111 games and catching 327 receptions for 4,139 yards and 30 touchdowns.
