MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Former Portland Sea Dog John Hattig’s two-run home run gave the New Hampshire Fisher Cats a 2-0 win over the Altoona Curve and the Eastern League Championship Saturday in a three-game sweep.

It was New Hampshire’s first Eastern League title; the franchise relocated from New Haven, Conn., before the season.

Hattig’s homer came in the bottom of the third and was his second of the post season.

Pitcher Brandon League earned Championship Most Valuable Player honors after logging the save with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

He tossed a combined seven shutout innings in the series.

Starter Francisco Rosario (2-0) earned the win. He went six innings, allowing three hits, walking four and striking out six.

Ian Snell took the loss for Altoona (0-1). He allowed nine hits and two earned runs, walked one and struck out six over five innings.

Aaron Hill went three for four, pacing a 10-hit New Hampshire attack. Ray Sadler went two for four for Altoona.
