Pinochle results

LEWISTON — Standings for the Multi-Purpose Senior Pinochle League, after 11 weeks, are: games won, Carmen Charest, 44; Arthur Gilbert, 44; Maurice Morrissette, 40; washes, Maurice Morrissette, 5; Terry Auger, 4; Carmen Charest, 4.

Turkey raffle

AUBURN — The William J. Rogers American Legion Post 153, Cook and South Main streets, New Auburn, will hold
a turkey raffle from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday Nov. 22. It will benefit the 619th
Transportation Co. of Minot Avenue, deployed to Iraq.

TURNER — “Planning Your Novel” is two-week class being held by the MSAD 52
Adult and Community Education of Greene, Leeds and Turner on Mondays, Nov. 23
and 30. The workshop is for those who may have been working on a story for years or those who just have
vague ideas. It will give participants structure and the

free Thanksgiving dinner from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26. All

LEWISTON — The Hope Haven Gospel Mission, 209 Lincoln St., will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner from
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26. All who are in need are welcome. Shut-ins may call 783-6086 for meal delivery.

Elvis performance

AUBURN — The Capt. Frank W. Hulett VFW Post 1603, 588 Minot Ave., will have Robert Washington performing as Elvis from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov.
27. A dance will follow from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets, for $10,
are on sale at the post home from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. All proceeds will be donated to community activities. For more information,

Pomona grange

CAPE ELIZABETH — Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will be
guests of Cumberland Pomona at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Cape
Elizabeth Grange, Sprague Hall, at Route 77 and Charles E. Jordan Road.
Visiting officers will be from Androscoggin Pomona and Lecturer Glenys
Ryder will present a Thanksgiving Day program. After the meeting, a
meal will be served at noon, at a cost of $5. All members and guests
are welcome to attend.
