PARIS – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a course for propane and natural gas technicians from July 27 through Aug. 20 at the Western Maine Community College Center, South Paris.

The certified employee training program is a formal structure for training, testing and documentation to assure that workers in the propane industry have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their work safely and effectively. The three-part program includes basic principles and practices, appliance installation and appliance service.

The cost is $1,295 and includes all books, materials and the cost of the state licensing exam, which will be administered upon completion of the program. The classes will meet from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The courses will be taught by Tony Leclair, who is licensed by the Maine Propane and Natural Gas Board.
