JAY – The theme for the Jay-Niles Memorial Library children’s summer reading program this year is “Be Creative @ Your Library.” The kick-off will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, in the hall upstairs.
Jennifer Armstrong will interweave songs and stories. She always includes fiddle, banjo and bagpipe.
She may also play frame drum, lap dulcimer, guitar, bowed psaltery and wire strung harp.
Armstrong has created a program with the theme in mind. It will include a concert and a poetry writing workshop.
The library will present a number of programs that will spark creativity over the summer. The programs will include crafts, music, acting, painting and writing.
Those interested may visit the library for an event calendar and reading log .
There will be contests and prizes. Each program will start at 6:30 p.m.
Sign-up will be held from June 17 to July 15.
