NORWAY – The Norway-Paris Fish and Game Association held its annual ice fishing derby on Feb. 21 and 22. There was two days of fishing, food and fish stories at the Little Red School House on Norway Lake.

The winners were:

Bass: adult winner, Ed Smith; junior winner, Jordan Silver.

Brook trout: adult, Barry Richardson; junior, Chandler Lowe.

Pickerel: adult, Dan Mosley; junior, Brendan Cavers.

Togue: adult, Tyler Merrifield; junior, Chris Jackson.

A rainbow trout caught by Josh Proulx took the “other” fish category. The overall salmon winner was Denali Barker.

The Wheeler Trophy for the biggest fish caught by a junior went to Jordan Silver.

The club also held a raffle as part of the derby. Anyone who bought a derby ticket was entered into the raffle. The raffle winners were: fly rod, Roger Hawkins; Oxford 250 tickets, Neal Allen; gift certificates, Sally Cook, Steven Tobin, Tim Card Kala Kimball; dozen streamer flies, Dick Toothaker and Scott Harmon; speedway jackets, Pearl Hemmingway and Will Eshleman. The 50/50 winner was Eileen Fanjoy.

Monies raised will go toward sending several area youngsters to the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond.
