LEWISTON — The next session of the Lewiston Adult Education “Transitions to College and Careers: Health
Care Edition” program will begin Thursday, Sept. 3.
Since most health care positions require at least some college, and many adults are reluctant to return to school after being away from the classroom, Lewiston Adult Education is offering free support with the program.
The program will help adults use their prior experience and knowledge to determine which types of health care jobs they would find most satisfying. Participants will also refresh the academic reading, writing, health science, math and computer skills needed for college-level work.
Representatives from area hospitals and from the local colleges will also be available each week to meet with program participants to help answer any questions they may have about college and health care work.
Time will also be devoted to helping participants fill out college applications and financial aid forms. Participants will also learn about scholarships and financial assistance designed specifically for adults.
This program is offered at
