LEWISTON – The annual meeting of the Central Maine General Hospital-Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing Alumni Association will take place on Thursday, Jan. 15.
It will be a brown bag luncheon meeting starting at 11:30 a.m. at the college of nursing, 70 Middle St. Speaker will be Susan Baltrus, director of the college.
Her topic will be “Technological Advances in Educating Nurses.”
Baltrus will demonstrate some of the state-of-the-art equipment and advances in techniques being utilized by the college to educate future nurses. All area nurses are invited.
Baltrus, a graduate of CMMC’s School of Nursing, served for many years as a member of the faculty at the school prior to being named as the director of the college of nursing. She is also a member of the Maine Board of Nursing and has been selected to be on the Item Review Committee by the National Council State Boards of Nursing to prepare questions for the NCLEX exam. She has also been the recipient of recognitions and honors in the field of nursing.
A business meeting will take place after the program. Election of officers for the year will be held.
There will also be a vote to change the name of the organization, as the school of nursing has become a college of nursing. For more information, call 783-4322.
