AUBURN – The Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, will hold the first meeting of the new year on Monday, Jan. 12.
The kitchen committee, under the eye of Vice Commander Bee-Jay Bedard, will prepare a supper of four-cheese pasta shells with pimento and broccoli, kielbasa cooked in barbecue sauce, Italian bread, butter, coffee and gelatin with bananas topped with whipped cream.
It will be a joint function with Legion and Auxiliary members invited. Supper will be served at 6 p.m. followed by a joint meeting at 7.
With the membership drive still under way, new members at the supper/meeting will get their meal free; for all others the charge will be $5. The post needs only three new members to meet the quota for the year.
An application form is included in this month’s newsletter, and members are asked to carry it with them and sign up new members.
Several important items will be discussed at the meeting, said Commander Paul Beaucage.
