Principal Mike Poulin, left, Dirigo High School, Dixfield, has announced that Chelsea Bernard, right, senior, has been named a commended student in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 commended students are being recognized nationally. They placed among the the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who took the 2007 Preliminary SAT/Nation Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
