Supper changed
TURNER – The last fundraising event of the season for the North Turner Presbyterian Church will be the annual harvest supper. It is slated this year for 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the GAR Hall, Route 219, North Turner. The supper date has been changed from Oct. 18 due to a conflict.
Free luncheon
FARMINGTON – The Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday Oct. 11. The menu will include chicken stew over biscuits with apple crisp for dessert.
Delivery service will be available in the Farmington area. Call the church office at 778-0424 during the week or the church kitchen at 778-4438 on the morning of the luncheon if needing a meal delivered.
Church supper
LIVERMORE – An old fashioned meatloaf supper will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. (or until the food is gone) Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Victory Christian Church, Route 4, Brettuns.
Cost will be $5.50 a plate; free, children under age 5. The menu will include meatloaf, potatoes, gravy, coleslaw, green peas, carrots, biscuits, beverages, pumpkin pie, apple pie and peach pie.
Proceeds will benefit the fuel fund.
Homemakers meet
CHESTERVILLE – The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the Chesterville Town Office. Items on the agenda are program planning for 2009, election of officers, collection of dues and finishing projects for the Chester Greenwood Festival of Trees.
Members are asked to attend with ideas for future programs and donations for the Franklin County Animal Shelter. For more information, call 778-3156.
Harvest dinner
JAY – There will be a harvest dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the St. Rose of Lima Parish Hall in order to raise money for the St. Rose of Lima youth group to attend a convention in the spring. There will be vegetable soup, ham, potatoes, cabbage and carrots. The cost is $8 a person; kids under 5, free.
Museum closed
LIVERMORE FALLS – Maine’s Paper and Heritage Museum is closed for the year with the exception of several events. It will reopen Memorial Day weekend 2009.
Tours will be given through the end of October by appointment only. Call 897-3117 or 897-3514.
The fall dinner will be held at Lafleur’s Restaurant on Saturday, Oct. 11. The museum will be open on Saturday, Oct. 18, for the Apple Pumpkin Festival and on Sunday, Dec. 7, for Christmas at the Museum with Santa and snacks.
Any group or individual wishing to decorate a room at the museum to sell or display their items can call the same numbers. Members will decorate on Saturday, Nov. 22, for that event.
