Meeting change

PARIS – TOPS ME087, South Paris, has been meeting at the VFW Hall in South Paris for 14 years. Now, due to the cost of heating the large building, the chapter will move. Meetings will be held every Tuesday, beginning Oct. 7, in the Norway Rehabilitation Center dining room, Marion Avenue.

Weigh-in will be at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting at 7. There will be speakers, contests and games. Yearly membership is $24 and weekly dues are $1. For more information, contact Mary at 743-6992.

Farm meeting

RUMFORD – The Agriculture Commission will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the River Valley Technology Center. The committee meets the second Wednesday of every month.

Church supper

MEXICO – A public supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Mexico UCC Church (Green Church).

Menu will include roast pork and homemade pies. Cost will be $7, adults; $3, under 12. Takeouts will be available after 5:30 p.m.

Club meetings

RUMFORD – Polar Bears Snowmobile Club is meeting at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of each month through April at Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shop, Route 2. For more information, call Louise Stickney at 364-3848.

Grange supper

RUMFORD – Rumford Grange 115, Rumford Center, will hold a public harvest dinner from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12. Cost will be $7, adults; $3.50, age 12 and under. Take-outs will be available.

The Grange will hold a Halloween party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.

Richelieu chapter

LEWISTON – The local chapter of Richelieu International will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Ramada Inn’s Dudley’s Restaurant. President Daniel Isabel has extended an invitation to anyone fluent in French to attend. For more information, call 783-6346 in the morning or afternoon.

OES visitation

AUBURN – Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday Oct. 9, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. Judith A. Wilkie, grand conductress, will conduct the chapter’s official visitation.

All Eastern Star members are welcome. Refreshments will be served in the dining hall after the meeting.

Mended Hearts

LEWISTON – The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute is launching a chapter of Mended Hearts, a national nonprofit organization that supports heart disease patients and their families through a visiting program and monthly meetings.

Although Mended Hearts is a free patient-run support group, planners at the institute are helping to organize a core group of volunteers to get the program off the ground in the central and western Maine region.

Anyone interested in learning more about Mended Hearts should call CMHVI’s cardiac rehabilitation office at 795-8225 or e-mail [email protected].

A meeting will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in Young Wing first-floor conference room near the main entrance to Central Maine Medical Center.

Mended Hearts is affiliated with the American Heart Association.

Hummel club

LEWISTON – The Nor’Easter Maine Chapter, M.T. Hummel Collector’s Club, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. New members and anyone interested in Hummels are welcome. Lodge degree

WALES – Webster Lodge 164, AF and AM, 322 Centre Road, will hold a special communication at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9. Work for the annual inspection will be in the Master Mason’s Degree. A 6:30 supper will precede the meeting. All regular Master Masons are invited.
