PARIS – Memory walks will take place on Saturdays, Sept. 20 and Oct. 4, to raise funds to support Maine people with Alzheimer’s disease. It is expected that, statewide, more than 1,500 people will be on the move to end Alzheimer’s.

All memory walk funds will support the programs and services of the Alzheimer’s Association Maine Chapter, which include a 24/7 telephone helpline, more than 40 caregiver support groups statewide, education and training programs, care management, public policy and advocacy, as well as research aimed at finding a cause, cure, treatment and prevention of the disease.

Walks will be held Sept, 20 in Calais, Kennebunk, Rockland, Oxford Hills and York and on Oct. 4 in Augusta, Bangor, Bar Harbor, Topsham, Farmington, Fort Kent, Scarborough, Lewiston, Sanford and Skowhegan.
