FARMINGTON – The Stanley Museum of Kingfield will hold a Steam Car Seminar from Tuesday through Friday, Aug. 19 to 22, featuring meals and activities that can be enjoyed by seasoned steam car operators and the newly interested alike.

The seminar will begin with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Maine at Farmington, with speaker Sarah Stanley, great-granddaughter of F.E. Stanley and past board member and current adviser to the Stanley Museum.

Wednesday, Aug. 20, will kick off two days of seminars and workshops featuring speakers from all over the United States.

The two days will also include a chicken barbecue at the Stanley Museum, music, tours, ride and tour at the Narrow Gauge Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Railroad. Thursday evening will include a Maine lobster bake at Mooselookmeguntic Lake, complete with Stanley fiddle music featuring Stanley and Grimm, a multi-talented group performing on vintage Stanley violins.

A large consignment auction is slated for Friday, Aug. 22, at UMF.

The event will be hosted by the Stanley Museum and sponsored in part by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.
