RUMFORD – The Central and Western Maine Heart Walk 2008 business leaders and team captains kick-off breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at the Franklin Savings Bank Rumford Branch.

Those wishing to attend should RSVP by Friday, July 11, to Rumford Hospital at 369-1000 or [email protected].

The Central and Western Maine Heart Walk 2008 will be held on Sunday, Sept. 28, starting with registration and breakfast at 8:30 a.m. The walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Hosmer Field.

For the past several years Rumford Hospital has organized businesses and groups in the area into teams to travel to Lewiston for the annual Heart Walk to raise money for and awareness about heart disease, its causes and prevention.

This year with local sponsorship, the walk will be held at Hosmer Field. There will be walks of one, two and four miles.

The kick-off breakfast will provide more about the walk and how an organization can participate. Individuals who wish to walk are welcome to join even if their organization does not form a team.
