LEWISTON – Attorney Thomas P. Peters II, representative of the trustee, has announced the winner of the 2008 Alice Austin and Mary Schuman Scholarship Fund.

The winner, Patrick Roy, is a graduating senior of Lewiston High School. He is the son of Roger M. Roy and Elizabeth J. Summers of Lewiston and will attend Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., in the fall, majoring in mathematics.

Roy is also the recipient of the 2008 Dominic J. Roux Scholarship Award from Central Maine Federal Credit Union of Lewiston.

The Austin/Schuman Scholarship Fund is intended to assist students from the Lewiston-Auburn-Greene area pursuing studies in the field of education.

The amount of the scholarship will vary from year to year, but it is expected to be in the range of $2,000 a year and have a total value of up to $8,000 over the four years of college education.
