LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine has begun registration for the summer swim program. Lessons are offered Monday through Thursday morning, afternoon and evening. Classes are available for all abilities and ages, 6 months to adults. Classes may be a half-hour or an hour long, depending on level.

Classes are offered in three different schedules during the summer. People can choose the schedule that best fits their summer schedule: Speed Boat, classes four times a week for two weeks; Cruise Liner, classes twice a week for four weeks; or Sail Boat, classes once a week for eight weeks.

The eight sessions will begin the week of June 23. The cost of eight half-hour classes is $69; hour, $93.50. Participants must be members of the YWCA.

Basic membership to the YWCA is good for a year and allows members to participate in programs on a pay-as-you-go basis. Basic membership fees are: child, up to 12, $30; youth, age 13 to 17, $35; adult, age 18 to 59, $55; senior citizen, 60+, $45. The YWCA also offers package memberships to include unlimited access to YWCA programs. For more information, stop by or call the YWCA at 795-4050.

Private swim lessons are also available by appointment at a cost of $25 a half-hour session. Participants must be members of the YWCA. To book a private lesson, call the YWCA.
