DURHAM – The PTA Fun Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Durham Elementary School.
The fifth annual Cow Chip Raffle will also be held to benefit the class of 2011’s trip to the Maine Conservation School.
Lunch and desserts will be available at 11 a.m. Sparky the cow will join the crowd at noon for about an hour. If Sparky leaves the first cow chip in an assigned square, that person will win $1,000. Participants do not need to be present to win. Raffle tickets are available from fifth-graders and their parents for a $10 donation. A square will be assigned randomly. Flag ceremony
LISBON – American Legion Post 158 will conduct a flag retirement ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14. Members of the community are welcome to bring old or unserviceable flags for disposal. The post home is located at 10 Webster Road. For more information, call 353-8192.

Post renaming
AUBURN – New Auburn American Legion Post 153 will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the post. Members are asked to attend to discuss renaming the post in honor of Bill Rogers. They will also discuss proposed renovations. Post 153 is now non-smoking.
Farmers wanted
LISBON FALLS – The University of Maine Cooperative Extension office, serving Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties, has a new agriculture and natural resources educator, Tori Jackson.
Jackson is interested in connecting with all farmers in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties and would like to create a mailing list for agricultural announcements and educational opportunities.
