Hospital Safe Sitter class completes course

NORWAY – Stephens Memorial Hospital has announced the successful completion of the Safe Sitter class of four on April 25.

Safe Sitter (www.safesitter.org) is a medically accurate program that teaches ages 11 to 15 how to be safe, nurturing babysitters. The goal of the program is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by babysitters. The class teaches infant and child CPR, safety for the sitter, business practices and how to entertain children.

Dates for classes in 2008 are: June 18 and 20, July 16 and 18 and Aug. 13 and 15. All classes are two days. Call The Family Birthplace at 743-1562, ext. 380, for more information or to sign up for classes. The fee is $50.
