RUMFORD – Region 9 and Beacon Hospice Inc. will sponsor a community education presentation on dementia on Tuesday, April 29.

Dr. Laurel Coleman, medical director of Beacon Hospice and national board member of the Alzheimer’s Association, will discuss the stages of Alzheimer’s, current treatment and support for patients and caregivers.

In addition, Deep Harbors, a program developed by Beacon Hospice to address the needs of end-stage dementia patients, will be discussed.

The presentation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Mt. Valley High School Library. The program is free but attendees are asked to call Region 9 to register at 364-2012.
