RUMFORD – The Rumford Eagles will host a Child Advocacy Day for area youth on Saturday, May 3, in the Eagles Function Hall.
In the morning, representatives from various organizations will have presentations to benefit the children and their parents. Programs will include photo ID sessions, finger-printing, fire and home safety, drug awareness, drug abuse, bicycle safety, gun safety, water safety and first aid education.
Scott Grassette, along with his group of young magicians, will be on hand to interact with the crowd as well as some folks who will do face painting for the kids.
In the afternoon there will be a free teen dance with the band Duke. In the evening a benefit dance with Duke is planned to raise money for area youth groups. Cost for tickets will be $6 for individuals or $10 a couple.
Throughout the day, various fundraising activities will go on to benefit the cause. Plans for a yard sale in the parking lot are in the works and donated items would be appreciated. For more information, call Marcie at 357-3103 or Fred Allen at 739-9798 to arrange pick up.
