FRYEBURG – The New England Galloway Group, in conjunction with the Belted Galloway Society and the Fryeburg Fairgrounds, will hold the 18th annual National Belted Galloway Sale and Youth Expo and host the Pride of the Pines Hereford Sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 25 26, and 27, at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds. There will also be a commercial trade show.

The youth events will start at 10 a.m. Friday with a showmanship class. A jackpot steer show will be held at 3 p.m. and a prime rib banquet at 6:30 p.m. followed by a youth benefit auction. Tickets for the banquet are $20 for adults and $10 for children under age 12. For more information on the banquet, contact Christine Adams at 696-3812.

Youth events will get under way at 9 a.m. Saturday with a commercial heifer show and a youth steer show. At 1 p.m. the New England Galloway Group will present a Belted Galloway heifer to a youth from the greater New England area as part of the annual NEGG Heifer Project.

After the presentation, the Pride of the Pines Hereford Sale will begin, followed by the 18th annual National Belted Galloway Sale. During the Hereford Sale, a heifer will be auctioned off, with the proceeds donated to the Youth Expo. All sale animals will be available for viewing by 9 a.m. Friday.

A youth Heifer show will start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. A food booth run by the Fryeburg Lions Club will be open throughout the weekend.
