In an annual ceremony at the University of Connecticut’s School of Pharmacy, Kane P. Olson received his white coat, which symbolizes entrance into health care professions.

The event celebrates students’ completion of academic curriculum and is held prior to starting clinical rotations. To wrap up the event, the students took the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s oath of a pharmacist.

Olson, a Bethel resident, received his BS in pharmacy last May. After his final semester of class work this spring, he will begin a series of clinical rotations, one of which will be in Dillingham, Alaska, this fall.

Olson has interned at Ketner Pharmacy in Norway the past three years. He is a 2003 graduate of Gould Academy and is the son of Chris and Cyndy Kane Olson.
