Grange to meet

AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the hall. The program will be presented by the Agricultural Committee. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting and all members and guests are welcome.

Marines meeting

AUBURN – The Central Maine Detachment, Marine Corps League, will pay tribute to the Four Chaplains at a 7 p.m. meeting Thursday, Feb. 28, at the New Auburn American Legion Post 153, 71 South Main Street, New Auburn.

The detachment is making plans to have a color guard, and members have been in training to serve at military funerals, which are available for any veteran who served during any war or conflict.

Living workshop

LEWISTON – A workshop, “Eating Well, Living Well with Kidney Disease,” will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Nutrition Center of Maine, corner of Bates and Walnut streets.

Registered dietitian and veteran cook Jean Rocap, RD, LD, CDE, will present a workshop on how to plan meals and eat healthy while managing kidney disease.

Those attending should bring lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided. The cost of the class is $10. Call 753-5466 to register.

Sodality speaker

LEWISTON – Rosary Sodality of St. Patrick’s Parish will hold a day of recollection at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the chapel, Walnut Street.

Speaker will be Sister Mona Guerette of the Daughter of Wisdom. Originally from Aroostook County, she was a nurse in several states and a chaplain in New York for a year. Guerette is working four days weekly at the Wisdom Center and one day a week at d’ Youville nursing home as a certified chaplain.

All women of St. Joseph’s and St. Patrick’s parishes are invited. A light lunch will be served.

Camp activity

AUBURN – The Modern Woodmen of America District Office, 67 Minot Ave., announces a Camp 8794 activity from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday, March 23, at the West Minot Sugar House, Routes 119 and 124.

A Maine Maple Sunday pancake breakfast will be $4 for members. Tickets must be picked up at the Modern Woodmen office. For more information, call 783-8804.
