LIVERMORE – Members of the Livermore-Jay-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce met recently to celebrate a successful year and recognize members.

Phil Poirier and Erin Nelson were honored as Members of the Year.

Poirier was recognized for his impact on the Livermore Falls Downtown Betterment Group and his work on the chamber and Livermore Falls and Jay town Web sites, design of the chamber’s new logo and Apple-Pumpkin Festival as well as his photography.

Nelson was recognized for her dedication in organizing the 2006 and 2007 Apple-Pumpkin Festivals. Her leadership and organizational skills enabled the Festival Planning Committee to grow the number and variety of vendor participants and the number of attendees and distances from which they traveled.

Retiring 2007 Chamber Chairman Bruce Adams was given a weather station for his service over the past year.

John Ross, Visitors’ Guide Committee chairman, received a certificate of appreciation for his leadership in designing the 2007 edition of the guide. Under his leadership, the committee grew into two subcommittees: those who designed the guide and those who did the proofreading. The final product was easier to read and focused on a wider variety of area events, attractions and recreational opportunities throughout the year.

The 2008 Executive Board was introduced: Chairman Brett Beno of Fabian Oil and True Plumbing and Heating in Jay, Vice Chairman John Ross of Kimber and Ross in Livermore Falls, Secretary Michelle St. Jean of Smart Works Physical Therapy in Jay, Treasurer Paul Soucie of Androscoggin Bank in Livermore Falls, and Past Chairman Bruce Adams of Group Adams Propane Services in Livermore Falls.

Entertainment was provided by Carroll Chapman, a full-time award winning magician. The evening concluded with the drawing of door prizes and the 50/50 raffle.
