LEWISTON – The Androscoggin Land Trust recently elected six new members to its board of directors.

Nominees were voted on during the land trust’s recent annual meeting, held Dec. 6 at Bates College.

“These new board members represent a diversity of interests in conservation and its value in building sustainable and vibrant communities along the central Androscoggin River corridor,” said trust president Jonathan LaBonte.

“The caliber of these individuals and the leadership roles they play in their communities and organizations points to the strength of the land trust at this important time.”

The new members, in alphabetical order, are: Susan Gammon, Canton, project manager with the Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District; Jason C. Libby, Auburn, executive director of the Poland Spring Preservation Society; Andrea Quaid, Lewiston, district representative for Congressman Mike Michaud; Heather Rideout, Lisbon, owner of File-Busters LLC; Steve Sinisi, Durham, New Leaf Farm and the Durham Conservation Commission; and Angela Cole Westhoff, Poland, executive director of Healthy Androscoggin Comprehensive Community Health Coalition.

Four current board members were elected to a second term: John Ackerman of Durham, Melinda Emerson of Greene, Dana Little of Auburn and Ed Plourde of Lewiston.

The Androscoggin Land Trust is a membership-supported conservation organization dedicated to protecting the natural areas, landscapes and outdoor experience along the central Androscoggin River corridor.

The trust conserves more than 3,100 acres of land, including more than eight miles of riverfront along the Androscoggin River.
