Hymn sing

TURNER – The North Turner Presbyterian Church will hold a Christmas Eve hymn sing and celebration at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24. There will be special music for the Christmas service, which is geared for all ages.

Everyone is invited to attend fellowship after the service to visit with friends and neighbors and have Christmas cookies and hot cider. The church is located on Route 219 in North Turner village.

Corps to elect

AUBURN – The Marine Corps League’s Central Maine Detachment will hold nominations and elections prior to the Christmas party at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the New Auburn American Legion Post 153, 71 South Main St.

Members are requested to bring a dish for the party. Call Edith Lemieux at 784-0656 to let her know what is being brought.

Bingo moves

LEWISTON – Lewiston Youth Activities Fund Bingo will move to the Knights of Columbus Hall, 150 East Ave.

They will playing at 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 1 p.m. Sundays. Jane Burns, president and founder, said she is pleased with the move and is looking forward to a new year in a new location.

LYAF gives books as well as cash donations to area sports programs. “We love kids,” said Burns. First game night is Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Bridge champions

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on Dec. 18 were: first, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; second, Shirley West and Flo Ludwin; third, Jeanine Kivus and Lorry Letourneau; fourth, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; fifth, Rosemarie Goodwin and Luke Merry; first in B, Nancy Farmer and Paul Sherman; second in B, Sue Kaluzynski and Donna Bartlett.

Winners of the quarterly club championship at Schooner Estates in Auburn on Dec. 19 were: first, Paul Barber and Luke Merry; second, Martine Begert and David Lock; third/fourth tie, Rosemarie Goodwin and Fred Letourneau with Jeanine Kivus and Patricia Garcia.

No games will be played on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. The next Tuesday game will be on Jan. 8. The duplicate bridge games are played at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Schooner Estates. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for more information.
