LEWISTON – HealthSteps at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has announced senior fitness classes.

The one-hour class provides participants with a safe and effective workout that includes a warm-up, cardiovascular component, resistance training, plus flexibility exercises.

The class will build core strength to help participants improve or maintain the activities of daily living. Energetic and certified instructors lead the exercise, provide individual attention and monitor progress. Interaction among participants is encouraged.

Classes will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Nov. 19 to Dec. 21 at the newly renovated Nutrition Center of Maine (formerly the Wallace Building), corner of Bates and Walnut streets. The class will be offered from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $30.
