FARMINGTON – Nero arrived at the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a stray. Staff said he had a hard time connecting to them at first, but after a few days he showed love, affection and wanting to please.

They said he is a wonderful dog and would do well with some one-on-one attention.

Nero has been at the shelter for a few months now and is waiting patiently for his forever home. He has a hard time showing people how great he is upon first sight. He tends to jump up and bark at almost anyone.

Staff said all Nero really needs is a home full of patience and love, one filled with treats and hugs, and one where he would be able to be a dog instead of an object that could be easily forgotten.

New dogs at the shelter include a pointer mix found in Phillips.
