PARIS – The Oxford County Youth Development Program started a campaign two years ago to establish a trust fund through the State 4-H Foundation to insure that the programs offered to youth in Oxford County will be able to continue in the years to come.

This year the campaign to reach the goal of $250,000 is continuing. Business and individual support the past two years has resulted in $135,000 in cash and more than $25,000 in additional pledges toward the final goal.

4-H is open to all youth in Oxford County between the ages 5 and 18 and covers areas such as after-school programs, leadership training, 4-H club activities and projects, plus county, state and national programs.

Each year Oxford County has members participating in state awards, Eastern States Exposition, Citizenship Washington Focus and National 4-H Congress.

Their experiences give them the opportunity to meet youth from every part of the country.

To participate in the campaign contact Susan Jennings, Extension educator, Oxford County Extension, 9 Olson Road, South Paris, ME 04281 or call 743-6329 or 1-800-287-1482.
