Park Avenue Elementary School will celebrate the season with a Harvest Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Wallingford’s Orchard in Auburn. This is the school’s first big event of the year, and it is open to the public. There will be pony rides, games, bounce house, meals, apple picking, doughnuts and apple dumplings. Many volunteers from the PTO are helping to prepare for the event, including, from the left, Donna Lafean, committee Chairwoman Jill Hurd, Sharon Wood and Liz Henry. The event will continue in the case of light rain, but will be canceled if there is heavy rain.
