Baby-sitting

BRIDGTON – The Bridgton Community Center will offer a six-hour American Red Cross baby sitter’s training course at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5. Attendees will receive a certificate at the end of the six-hour class.

The basic course gears toward ages 11 to 14, teaching them information on safe and responsible baby-sitting, basic care, safety, safe play and basic first aid.

Fee will be $30, which covers the cost of the book that participants will be able to take home with them for reference. To register or for more information, contact BCC at 647-3116 or [email protected].

Pond survey

OTISFIELD – The Saturday Pond Watershed Association will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, Rayville Road, for a continental breakfast.

Kristin Feindel, Maine Department of Environmental Protection, will explain how to conduct a voluntary watershed survey to locate sources of soil erosion and polluted run-off that could potentially impact water quality of the lake.

Saturday Pond Watershed Association plans to conduct a survey of the pond next spring. All are invited.

Sermon topic

PARIS – “The Mobius Connection” will be Silver Moore-Leamon’s sermon topic for the 10 a.m. worship service at the First Unversalist Church, 36 Pine St., Paris, on Sunday, Sept. 16.
