WEST PARIS – Maureen and Robert Ilsley Sr. of Trophy Transport, Route 26, West Paris, presented the town of West Paris a check in the amount of $1,000.

The Ilsley men have a history of serving their country, and the Ilsleys’ son, Robert, is just finishing a tour in Iraq.

The funds will be used to open an interest-bearing account, the purpose of which is to engrave the names of qualifying veterans on monuments and to maintain the monuments themselves.

It is the hope of the Ilsleys that others will contribute money so that eventually the account will grow to be self-sustaining, and the town will be able to show its honor for its veterans by adding their names free of charge.
