FARMINGTON – Registration is under way for the University of Maine at Farmington Tuesday evening parent-child play group, which will start in mid-September.

The inclusive group meets weekly from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and focuses on parent-child interactions.

The play groups are based on the Parents Interacting With Infants (PIWI) approach, with activities stemming from parent-child interests.

The group is planned to facilitate parents’ observations and understanding of their children’s unique developmental abilities.

UMF students facilitate the group under the guidance of UMF Professor Dolores Appl. There is no charge for the play group, but registration is required.
