LEWISTON – All levels of computer instruction will start soon at Lewiston Adult Education. The hands-on courses are designed to enable students to understand concepts and gain confidence while they are learning.
Spaces are available in most courses, but preregistration is required. Registration can be completed online at www.lewistonadulted.org or by calling the office at 795-4141.
In addition to the core courses of “Absolute Beginner,” “Computer Literacy” and “Internet Basics,” there are a number of new courses being offered.
“Adobe Illustrator” is a 15-week course for individuals looking to learn the graphic design software. The program allows users the ability to create graphics for Web and print using a variety of drawing and shading techniques. No previous layout experience is required, but basic computer skills are a must. Classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. starting Thursday, Aug. 28.
“Web Site Development” is a nine-week program for those looking to design a customized Web site for business or personal use. Emphasis will be on designing, developing, publishing and maintaining a Web site. Proficiency with personal computers is required. The course is scheduled for Tuesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning Aug. 28.
A variety of other computer courses are also being offered. They include “Adobe Photoshop,” “MS Excel,” “MS PowerPoint,” “QuickBooks I” and “PC Repair and Upgrade.”
