PARIS – Over the last month, cameramen and TV commentators have spent a lot of time in the Oxford Hills, scouring the area for some of the best and most significant businesses and recreational opportunities. And, the businesses that made the final cut will be recognized throughout the state, beginning this week, as the Portland-based The CW and My Portland TV broadcast the “Oxford Hills Destination Show.”

Area businesses chosen by My Portland TV and The CW to be featured in the piece include: Maine Balsam Fir of West Paris, Maurice Restaurant of Paris, The Lake House of Waterford, Main Street Furniture & Appliance and Ken’s Yamaha of Norway, and Schiavi Home Builders and Diamond Cut Jewelers, both of Oxford.

The show also features Norway Savings Bank, Carter’s Farm Market, Western Maine Mineral Adventure, the photography of Moose Pond Arts + Ecology, many local recreational, historic and architecturally significant spots.

Additionally, over 40 local residents are featured in the show, doing such things as biking, skiing, rockhounding and more.

The show, part of the OurMaine Destination show series, is a 30 minute TV program that profiles the Oxford Hills area and its business community that began airing Monday, Aug. 14, and will continue to air once per day on The CW and My Portland TV through Oct. 14. The show can be seen on local channels 35, 43, and 51, or by cable subscription on channels 3 and 12, and on satellite channels 35 and 51.
