JAY – Canton High School alumni gathered at the Amvets Hall for an annual reunion on Aug. 4.
Eighty-two alumni and guests renewed friendships, recalled memories and had dinner.
Two from the class of 1935, Lucille R. Brennan and Katherine R. Holmes, were the oldest present. Celebrating 70 years (1937) were Lois A. Gordon and Emily Pike.
Five representing the class of 1957 were Robert Tirrell, Barbara D. Groleau, Jean S. McClure, Robert and Henry Paradie. The class of 1967 attended two years at Canton but graduated from Dixfield as SAD 21 was formed in 1965-66. Attending were Donna W. Hebert, Sylvia G. Crafts, Priscilla C. Wyman, Dana Whittemore and Greg Young.
Teacher/administrators Ed Gibson and Jack Crain and their wives attended. Two annual scholarships will be awarded in 2008, one to Brian Keen for his second year and one to Alex LeBlanc, 2007 graduate. A new scholarship, the Campbell Family Scholarship, will be awarded in 2008.
