Linda Prescott’s eighth-grade advocacy class at Auburn Middle School recently invited Capt. David Woodhouse, U.S. Navy, to visit. Woodhouse, an employee of Bank of America in Auburn, recently returned from Afghanistan after an 18-month deployment. He discussed the poverty, the rebellion and the military mission in Afghanistan to the students. He brought many Afghani wares, such as the rugs and items, that are made there. The class had sent cards, letters, school supplies and coats to Woodhouse throughout the school year for him to distribute to the children of Afghanistan. Here, Woodhouse shakes hands with student Ashley White, while Desiree Tanguay looks on.
