SOUTH PARIS – Rebecca Dowse was recently welcomed as a new member of the Norway/Paris Lions Club.

Dowse was presented with a membership pin and a Certificate of Membership after taking her oath to become the newest member of the club.

The club is made up to men and women whose mission is “To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation.” It is also extensively involved with eyesight preservation by collecting used eyeglasses for recycling and distribution them to those in need.

Meetings are held every first and third Monday night at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of the Deering Memorial United Methodist Church, at the corner of Main and Church Streets in South Paris. The evening begins with a wonderful home cooked dinner and is followed by the meeting. New members are always welcome and if you are interested in or would like to obtain more information, please contact club president Mark Danico at 744-0023 or, stop by during a meeting.
