LEWISTON – Lewiston High School Alumni Foundation President Sharon K. Martel announced the scholarship recipients for the 2007 graduating class on Friday.

Sarah Pelletier was awarded a $6,000 scholarship. She will attend Sacred Heart University and major in physical therapy. The scholarship is in memory of Donald Roux and was donated by David Roux.

Matthew Gutshall also received $6,000. He will attend St. Joseph’s College majoring in accounting/finance. The scholarship is in memory of Donald Roux and was donated by Donald Roux.

Amber Auger was awarded $1,500 and will attend St. Anselm College. She will major in dental hygiene. The scholarship is in memory of Linwood Kelly and donated by the Kelly Fund.

Danielle Dubuc was presented $1,500. Dubuc will attend American University, majoring in international studies. The scholarship was dedicated and donated by Beulah Carrigan.

Carter Handy received $1,500 and will attend Mitchell College in New London, Conn. He will major in early elementary education. The scholarship is in memory of Joseph Deschenes and was donated by David Roux.

Keith Hopkins was presented $1,500. He will attend Bentley College and major in accounting. The scholarship is in memory of William Carrigan and was donated by Beulah Carrigan.

Shirwac Hussain Ali was awarded $1,500. He will attend the University of New England and major in medical biology. The scholarship is in memory of James Larouche and was donated by Adam and Sheri Barr.

Zachary Jensen received $1,500 and will attend Juniata College majoring in business/history. The scholarship is in memory of James Roux and was donated by David Roux.

Lauren Landry was awarded $1,500. She will attend Emerson College and major in print multimedia. The scholarship is in memory of Stantelle Elise Dube, class of 2006, and was donated by friends and family.

Channel McLellan received $1,500 and will attend Assumption College majoring in biology. The scholarship was dedicated to “a friend” and donated by R.H.

Ashley McWhorter was presented $1,500. She will attend Brigham Young University. Her major is undecided at this time. The scholarship was donated by the LHS Alumni Foundation.

Randi Record was awarded $1,500. She will attend Southern New Hampshire University and major in culinary arts. The scholarship was dedicated and donated by Shawn Butler.

Lauren Rodrigue was presented $1,500. She will attend Boston University. Her major is undecided at this time. The scholarship was donated by the LHS Alumni Foundation.

Rachel Spilecki was awarded $1,500 and will attend Suffolk University majoring in history/theater. The scholarship was donated by the LHS Alumni Foundation.

Ivan Staev was presented $1,500. He will attend the University of Hartford majoring in cinema. The scholarship is in memory of Dan Shapiro and donated by the class of 1969.
